Inspired by “no pack and a pared down rack” kind of days, the Approach Down Hoody easily layers over a sun hoody on brisk multi-pitch rock routes or under a shell on ice climbs and alpine missions. The Approach Hoody’s ultralight nylon ripstop shell features Green Theme International’s revolutionary Breathable Water Protection Technology—an environmentally friendly, PFC-free DWR that’s superior in performance and substantially more durable than other DWR solutions. Inside, premium 800-fill, RDS-certified HyperDRY™ goose down insulation offers high-lofting, incredibly packable warmth that resists inclement weather. When it’s time to move, the jacket stuffs into its hand pocket and secures to your harness with a carabiner clip loop.

The Perfect Puffy

I took this jacket skiing at the end of the season last year and it performed flawlessly as an outer layer down to 30 degrees. The fit is normal to what you would expect for your size, and it's a great medium-weight puffy. The only criticism I have is that I wish it came with a stuff-sack.

Excellent product, light and warm

I haven't had a chance to put it through the paces, however I have a lot of puff jackets and experience with these products. I'm 510 190lbs and fit with fairly broad shoulders and the fit (L) was perfect with room for base layers. I love the cut of the hood. Craftsmanship seems top notch. Its light. Can't wait to get up in the mountains with this thing. Will likely be ordering another for normal wear.
